The Sunken Six
In the spring of 2019 we took six bottles of Barti and with the help of our good friend Danny, we sunk them off the coast of Pembrokeshire.
Nearing the end of the year, the six bottles were recovered and now in all of their barnacle encrusted glory, enriched with the memories of the summer, they are looking fabulous and are in need of homes.
Each one contains the original liquid which you can see shining red through the crustacean covered bottle. The label is no longer in tact and because we cannot guarantee that no sea water entered the bottle we wouldn’t advise consuming it, however the bottle would make an idyllic keepsake or ornament.
What’s going to happen to them?
We are going to use the opportunity of distributing these treasures from the sea to raise some money for a charity we hold dear, The Fishermen’s Mission. The Fishermen’s Mission work hard providing support to fishermen and their families in times of need. In the past 10 years, 94 fishermen have died at sea in the UK, 529 fishermen have suffered serious injury and 210 fishing vessels have been lost.
- Three of our sunken six will go up for sale on our webshop. When you buy a sunken Barti, half of the price you pay will go straight to The Fishermen’s Mission. Buy a Sunken Barti.
- One of the sunken six will be won in a raffle. In December and January you will be able to buy a raffle ticket from our webshop which will mean you are entered into a draw to win it. Ninety percent of funds raised from the sale of raffle tickets will go to The Fishermen’s Mission. Buy a raffle ticket.
- One of the sunken six will be won by a member of the Three Sheets to the Wind Alliance as part of a competition in January 2020. To find out more you must join the Alliance and await instruction!
- One will remain at Barti HQ.
If you fancy getting your hands on one of these beauties, follow one of the steps above! Good luck.
