John Lewis launches 9 strong small-brand rum range.
As the craft gin phenomenon continues to grow and thrive, 2019 is tipped to be the year that rum gets a share of the limelight. Esteemed high street department store John Lewis is leading the way by introducing a range of nine small-brand rums including Pembrokeshire’s Barti Ddu.
Barti Ddu Spiced Rum launched in the autumn of 2017 and champions the use of wild picked Pembrokeshire seaweed. The seaweed is said to add depth to the taste and compliment the array of other spices which include vanilla, clove and orange.
Fran Barnikel, partner at Barti Rum says, “There is a growing trend for consumers wanting to see and try smaller, alternative brands to the usual giants you see in the supermarket. Pembrokeshire is full of wonderful craft gin and rum producers, it’s an exciting time for everyone.”
John Lewis will be introducing its new rum range in the Spring but Barti Ddu can be found now, in lots of great independent shops across the county.
